Last year, the Munchy Mobile paid it's dues, showed up at EVERY one of the Springfield's Cityblock concerts... Dwindling attendance and all... Rain or Shine, we honored our word.
The Facts:
We were told we would be the ONLY one selling burgers and dogs, found out that wasn't the case.
We were told we would be next to the parking lot that would be filled with bikers - No Bikers in the lot.
We were told we would be right next to the beer tent, we were not.
We were told that no other food vendors would be added to the BIG finale, not true. Food vendors were added.
We showed up every night, on time, honored our word and contract.
We provided great food at a VERY low price! - TRUE
We said we would donate ALL of our tips tot he FRIENDS OF THE HOMELESS - TRUE $317.85 to be exact!
So, when you go to the concerts this year, if you go, bring more than $5. Because, and not by choice, the Five Buck Truck will not be there. Instead of $5 buying you a Burger or 2 Hot Dogs, PLUS Tater Tots, AND a Bottle of Water, it might just get you one hot dog or if you are lucky, a burger.
We were told that another food vendor, who is also a sponsor, felt we were the reason for their low food sales last year and that is why we were not being asked back this year. It is our understanding that this food vendor/sponsor had no intensions of selling food this year as they believe their low sales last year was due to the low attendance and not the Five Buck Truck. I am pretty sure how the rest of this will play out. My many years of producing Broadway Shows has honed one skill, and that's the ability to see BAD ACTING a MILE AWAY!
But sadly, the BIGGEST losers in this tragedy - Friends Of the Homeless!
