| Razrberry leaked |
|
|
If there’s any merit to this rumor, this new smartphone is going to kick some ass; based on the rendered image and specifications provided by Pocket PC Dubai! Based on my limited understanding of this rumor, Dangaard Telecom accidentally leaked the road map of Motorola and Qtek devices.

| Pantech & Curitel PH-L4000V Camcorder Phone |
|
|
Pantech & Curitel continue to explore new form factors with this PH-L4000V 'Camcorder Phone,' which adopts features normally seen in video cameras. The camera sensor itself is a 2.1-megapixel model, with flash and optical zoom, which can also record video clips to memory cards (I'm not quite sure what format yet).
While there are no plans to release the phone in the West to my knowledge, many Korean phones can be imported and used on US CDMA networks like Verizon, albeit with often-confusing interfaces and broken features. I'd like to try using one, though—it looks fun.

| Taiwan’s new 3 megapixel cameraphone, the X-cute V |
|
|
Seeing phones like this remind us that sometimes it’s so very easy to tell
the difference—we mean really tell the difference—between Chinese and
Taiwanese gear and, er, the rest of the world’s (okay, BenQ excepted). Don’t get us
wrong, we’re not trying to harsh on Yan Chuan Communication’s mellow for being
among the first outside Korea/Japan to bust out a 3-megapixel cameraphone, but
the irony of the X-cute V8’s name may just be too great to comprehend, it
looking toyish at best. In its defense, though, it can be used gun/DV cam-style,
and it does have a 1.6-million color screen, mini-SD slot, and MP3 playback
software.

| New Definition of Cool, Sony Ericsson S710a |
|
|
Ever since I
interviewed Sony Ericsson president Urban Gillstrom a few months back-and
noticed that he, along with the other Ericsson folks visiting the Business 2.0
mothership -were all carrying the S710, I’ve been eager to get my hands on one.
I believed then, and am convinced now, that this may be the heir to Sony
Ericsson’s T610, their most popular phone to date.
After spending the past several days using the S710a (the kind folks at Sony
Ericsson let me grab one from their booth at CES) it’s already apparent that it
features a level of sophistication that eludes most mobiles. The baseline specs
are impressive-EDGE-capable, Tri-band GSM, built-in Bluetooth, Memory Stick Duo,
1.3 megapixel camera-but that’s not what sets it apart. Rather, it’s the way the
S710a manages to integrate all of these features so that all of the highlights
are easily accessible and, more importantly, easy to use.
